Tirupati, 20 Mar. 16: The annual Pushpayagam in the Sri Kalyana Venkateswaraswamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram will be performed on the lines of Srivari temple on April 3.
Beginning with the Akurarpana on April 2 at 6pm in the evening, the festivities will pick up on April 3 with vedic rituals at the yagashala in the morning from morning 10.30 to 12.00 and later snapana thirumanjanam for both Lord and Padmavati amma during which priests perform abhisekham to the deities with turmeric, kumkum, sandal, milk, curd, honey, perfurmed water and variety of flowers and fruits.
Later Pushpa yagam will be performed from 2.30 to 5 PM with variety of colourful flowers Tulasi, Chamanti, Ganneru, Malle, Jaji, Sampangi, Rose and other flowers and perfurmed leafs. Unjal seva from 6.30 PM and procession from 7.00 to 8.00 in the streets will also be performed.
All arjita seva in the temple have been cancelled for sake of Pushpayagam on April 3 but devotees can perform Pushpayagam on the same day after payment of Rs. 516 and beget lords prasadam of a blouse and a Uttariyam
Pushpayagam is a traditional ritual performed at the temple of TTD to purify and sanctify the precincts against any lapses in procedures and rituals by priests ,temple officials or even devotees in the conduction of the nine day annual Brahmotsavams. Performance of Pushpayagam will cleanse the temple of all impurities.
