SOLAR ECLIPSE ON MARCH 9

Tirumala, 7 March 2016: Following the Solar eclipse on Wednesday, the hill shrine of Tirumala will remain closed from 8:30pm of March 8 till 10am of March 9.

As per the Hindu almanac, the solar eclipse will commence on March 9 by 5:47am and conclude by 9:08am. But as a usual practice, the temple doors will be closed six hours prior to eclipse. So the temple doors will be closed for almost 13 hours from March 8 by 8:30pm and will be re-opened on March 9 after 10am. Till this time there will be no darshan.

TTD has cancelled Sahasra Kalasabhishekam in connection with the eclipse on March 9 while other morning sevas will be performed in Ekantam. The pilgrims are requested make note of this timings.
