City Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan interacts with listeners on Radio Mirchi

Social responsibility begins with Individual responsibility. Individual responsibility does not mean pin pointing things, it implies giving solutions to existing problems. As Hyderabad is changing into a global city – it is facing many challenges. The solution to these challenges lies in our hand. However, as an individual we may not always find an apt solution. We will need the support of government officials, and financial support too. Above all we need a medium to voice out our issues and find a solution.

 

Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM provided a platform to raise the issues citizens face every day with the City MayorSri Bonthu Ram Mohan garu, on Tuesday on the popular Radio Mirchi show 'Hi Hyderabad' on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, today at Radio Mirchi studio. Mayor had a freewheeling conversation with listeners, heard their problems, suggestions and solutions, patiently and explained the various initiatives government is under taking to make the lives of citizens comfortable. Amongst the initiatives he pronounced were, Government initiating a emergency service concept called Road Doctor, there will five teams in five zones, comprising of personnel from various departments who will immediately respond to citizens complaints through GHMC App on road damage, drainage problems etc, they will give either a permanent solution or a temporary solution and later a permanent one. Regarding the much hot topic of the plan to widen the road by chopping trees in KBR park, he said the city of Hyderabad has grown manifold but the amenities like roads, drainages have not kept pace with the growth. In fact at crossroads in the city several vehicles halt and create enormous pollution, this is highly damaging. Our plan is to make Hyderabad a signal free city and as part of this we will relocate all the 3100 trees from KBR park and will plant 6200 trees to compensate. He said development is important and protecting greenery is also a priority, the government will ensure that development and environment protection go hand in hand.

 

Mayor was patient and gave an ear to creative solutions from the listeners in the show hosted RJ Hemanth. With over 10 lakhs listenership, and being Hyderabad's hottest Radio Station - Radio Mirchi provided this opportunity to listeners to have a direct dialogue with the city's mayor.
