Tirumala, 14 May 2016: Saint Tyagaraja has successfully induced the moral values in the society through his Bhakti-Gnana Sankeertans and became immortal. As a befitting tribute to this great soul, TTD will observe the 250th Birth Anniversary of this great Vaggeyakara Pitamaha next year in a big way said, TTD Trust Board Chief Dr Ch Krishnamurthy and TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.
The 249th Birth Anniversary of the Saint Musician and Composer Sri Tyagaraja Swamy was observed by TTD SV College of Dance and Music in Kalyanavedika at Tirumala on Saturday evening. Speaking on this occasion, TTD Board chief, EO and Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, said Saint Tyagaraja lived a pious life which was an epitome of excellence and virtue.
As a mark of respect to his contributions, TTD has observed Tyagaraja jayanthi in Kakarla, his home town on May 12 and in Tirumala on Saturday. Over 400 eminent artistes hailing from Southern States took part in this celestial fete and rendered Tyagaraja Pancharatnakritis, utsava sampradaya keertans etc. in a melodious manner.
Deputy EOs Smt Baby Sarojini, Smt Goutami, DEO Sri Vijay Kumar, Music and Dance College Principal Smt YVS Padmavathi, students, faculty were also present.
