Tirumala, 12 May 2016: The stage has been set to celebrate the 249th Jayanthi Mahotsavams of Nada Brahma, Saint Musician and Father of Carnatic Music Sri Tyagaraja Swamy in Tirumala on May 14. This event will be organised jointly by the SV Dance and Music College and HDPP wings of TTD.
As a befitting tribute to the great composer, TTD has invited over 400 eminent musicians from the southern states to render the Tyagaraya Pancharatna Kritis on this momentous occasion. The event will take place in the Kalayana Vedika located in Papavinasanam Road at Tirumala on Saturday evening between 6pm to 8pm.
Saint Tyagaraja who was born in 1767 in Kakarla of Ongole and breathed his last in 1847. He paved a visit to Tirumala during his life time and rendered one of the most famous kritis-"Terateeyaga Raara..Tirupati Venkataramana.." before the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara.
On the lines of Tiruvayur Tyagaraja Aradhana Mahotsavams of Tamilnadu, TTD has been observing the vardhanti and jayanthi fete of the great saint musician from the past four years by organising Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavams in Tirumala.
