37th Sri Siva Kumar Educational & Charitable trust" Award function stills

Sri Sivakumar educational and charitable trust was founded by Actor Mr.Sivakumar in the year 1979 and since then has been supporting and honoring the education of the deserving candidates.During the 100^th film of Mr.Sivakumar, he started this service of awarding financial assistance to the state toppers and other deserving candiatates.

The 37^th year of award function of Sri Sivakumar educational and Charitable trust was a grand success which was held at Prasath Lab, Arunachalam Salai, Saligramam, Chennai. This year 20 students belonging to various categories like school toppers, visually challenged, students from economically backward family background were awarded Rs.10,000/- each amounting Rs.2 Lakh of financial assistance.

Welcoming the gathering, Mr.Si.Karthi said that, "This is our family function. We grew in an environment wherein our parents not only told us to help the needy, but also led the way. The students recognized today are toppers and our request to them is to use their education for the benefit of the society and become socially responsibility citizens. This was followed by the prize distribution to the students.

 Mr.Sivakumar addressed that, "We have been motivating the school toppers for the past 37 years through the Sivakumar Education Trust and very happy that my sons are now carrying this 7 years legacy of nurturing the needy through Agaram Foundation.  With the inception of Agaram Foundation, we are now able to provide quality education to more number of students coming from rural and economically poor background. The challenge of educating a child in the villages of India is not just a story to me but a part of my life and have realized what quality education can do to one's life. It gives me immense satisfaction in providing education to poor children.

Actor Suriya, son of Sivakumar addressed the gathering and gave away Rs.2.5 Lakh to Thai Tamil Thodakkapalli, an educational institution providing free education for students from economically backward family background and he continued his speech, "It is not difficult to start a task but continuing the same consistently is difficult one." This is what I learnt from my father. He will think a lot before starting a task, but once he gets on with it he will make sure that it continues effectively and efficiently. 37 years of functioning of Sri Sivakumar educational and charitable trust is an example of my father's commitment.

"Agaram Foundation aims to cater to the educational development of the students who are at the bottom of our socio-economic pyramid. Education is no more a want but basic necessity in life apart from food shelter and clothing. Agaram Foundation's "Vidhai" is educating more than 1300+, 1^st generation students. This is not possible only by an individual, lot of reputed educational institutions provide opportunity to the deserving students selected through Vidhai. Vidhai is not just sponsoring education, but also personality development, versatility and adaptability building into young citizens in all aspects. We have also initiated the "Thai" program for the school dropouts. Nearly 40 students are provided Skill Training through this program. My best wishes to all the students who received award today.
