Hyderabad, June 18: The Defence Minister of India, Mr Manohar Parrikar visited T-Hub, Hyderabad on June 18 (Saturday). The Hon'ble Minister was welcomed by Telangana IT, Industries and MA&UD Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, T-Hub CEO Jay Krishnan and T-Hub Founder and COO Srinivas Kollipara.
While on an official visit to Hyderabad, the Defence Minister decided to visit T-Hub to see what the state of Telangana has done for entrepreneurship. As he took a look around T-Hub, he congratulated the government of Telangana on creating the largest incubator in the country and appreciated the impact that T-Hub was creating. He talked about the importance of the startup ecosystem being based out of T-Hub, from where new ideas will emerge.
Three startups from T-Hub (Banyan Nation, Graphene and Bodhaguru) also presented their startups and ideas to the Defence Minister. The Hon'ble Minister had interesting and engaging conversations with them, as he asked the entrepreneurs about their startups and also gave them valuable advice.
Minister KTR and the Defence Minister then addressed startups at the T-Hub atrium. KTR officially welcomed Mr Parrikar to the building and highlighted some of the achievements of Shri Manohar Parrikar to the entrepreneurs.
Addressing the gathering, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said, "With technology you can make a difference. When I ventured into politics, I realised my engineering background and technological knowledge could be used to help the state. We need to create confidence amongst people that politcians are also good. Ultimately, politics will deliver. Introducing technology was simply the best effort made by me. In 2002, I took the bold initiative of introducing a new technology for sewage treatment in India. The second initiative is garbage treatment. India is facing tons of garbage being dumped. We opened a plant which cleared the garbage in the area completely. Technology can be a solution to many requirements of our country."
Excited entrepreneurs were seen listening to the minister with rapt attention and of course, joined in to take selfies with the Defence Minister.
