International day of Yoga was celebrated in Raj Bhavan

Yoga is an invaluable contribution of India to the world and it personifies unity of mind,  body, thought and action, said the Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan here today.

 

International day of Yoga was celebrated in Raj Bhavan here today where the Governor,  lady Governor  Ms. Vimala Narasimhan, Advisors to the Governor Sri APVN Sarma, Sri A.K. Mohanty, Prl. Secretary to Governor Sri Haripreet Singh,  State Election Commissioner, GoAP, Dr. N. Ramesh Kumar, Sri Basanth Kumar, Joint Secretary to Governor and other senior officers, their family members and others participated.

 

Yoga guru Sri Ravi Kishore  conducted the yoga exercises  for about an hour in the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said, Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being of humans.  He advised everybody in the society, particularly,  the youth to practice it on daily basis to get rid of  stress and anxiety.

 

Later, a nutritious breakfast which include millets kichidi, multi-grain laddu, sprouts salad, poha upma, and raagi java was served to all.  A booklet on preparation of various recipes with millets also was distributed.
