Tirumala, 2 June 2016: The innovative concept of Prahari Udyanavanams-the aesthetic "Vertical Gardens" was launched on either sides of the main entrance of Sri Tirumala Temple on Thursday in the first phase.
This Rupees 30 lakh project will be initiated by the Hyderabad based Harsha Bio Farm, free of cost to TTD for a period of a year. This includes the plantation and maintenance of the vertical gardens.
Meanwhile over foliate plants have been planted in 2500 pots with automatic drip watering facility to the pots. Whenever the plants needs water, the drip automatically wets the plants.
According to TTD Garden Department Dy Director Sri Srinivasulu, after the one year period, the firm will train the garden staff of TTD on the planting techniques involved in vertical gardens.
