TIRUMALA, 16 July 2016: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams had observed its unique "Budget Festival"-Anivara Asthanam on Saturday in a ceremonial manner.
SIGNIFICANCE OF ANIVARA ASTHANAM
Anivara Asthanam is the annual festival of the Temple Accounts, usually observed in the month of "Ani"(tamil) or Karakataka month(Cancer).
The uniqueness about this festival is that the previous year's accounts of the office are presented before the deity by the principal officers and are taken back to signify that the 'Lord' finds the officers fit enough to hold their respective offices. The keys of the bokkasam known as "Lacchana Talalu" were placed at the holy feet of Lord before the new book is opened during Asthanam.

Meanwhile in the evening the procession of Pushpa Pallaki Seva was observed between 6pm to 7pm in the four mada streets.
The processional deities were taken round inside the finely decked floral palanquin which was witnessed by tens of thousands of pilgrim devotees.
TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Temple DyEO Sri Rama Rao, TTD Trust Board Member Dr P Hari Prasad, Peishkar Sri R Selvam and others took part.
