Janmastami Celebrations at Raj Bhawan

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday

With the Governor and the Lady Governor taking the lead, all the officers, staff members and their families took part in the celebrations. 

With Lady Governor Vimala Narasimhan initiating the chanting of the melodious songs on Lord Krishna others like Bhuvaneswari Ramesh Kumar joined her and rendered beautiful melodies. The programme that began at 6 pm with Krishna Namo...Sri Krishna Namo, and the chorus ran for about an hour. 

In the end the Governor offered the traditional Harathi to Lord Krishna and distributed sweets as prasadam to all those present for the prayers.
