Vijayawada, 22 August 2016: It was 1.31 lakh anna prasadams on Sunday, it was 1.41 lakh anna prasadams distribution on Monday, the last day of the mega river festival -Krishna Pushkaram which came in a 12 year cycle.
It is a golden day for TTD which has excelled in distributing 1.41 lakh anna prasadams at Krishna Pushkaram on Monday, ultimate day of the river festival.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams well known for its well oiled machinery in distribution of anna prasadam has been engaged in the arduous task of providing anna prasadam to Pushkara devotees at all nine locations across river krishna. Every day a minimum of one lakh annaprasadam-a delicious combination of Upma-chutney, Tomato rice and Pongal-chutney- is provided to devotees.
A select team of TTD Anna prasadam division is engaged in the arduous but service oriented task on directions of TTD JEO Sri K S Srinivasa Raju and set a new landmark achievements which even has earned kudos of chief minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The TTD teams had supplied anna prasadams to 1.33 lakh devotees on Sunday,August 21, out of the over 2 lakh anna prasadams which were distributed all over Krishna Pushkaram locations .
The annaprasadams were distributed at Railway Stadium, RTC bus stand, Sitammavari Padalu in Vijayawada, Railway station (krishna canal), Rythym open theatre, AIMS, Model dairy (Kolanukonda highway). In view of the huge rush of devotees for pushkaralu on the last two days-Sunday and Monday special arrangements were made at RTC bus stand and also Sitammavari Padalu.
TTD had made a name for its service- distribution and quality preparations of anna prasadams during the last Godavari Pushkaralu and earned appreciation of Chief Minister.
TTD is popular for its anna prasadam at the huge complex set up at Tirumala named after Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba, mother of Lord Venkateswara who looked after feeding Srivaru .During Brahmotsavam every day nearly one lakh devotees are provided anna prasadams at Tirumala. TTD has fully geared up ultra modern kitchen with steam boilers, huge grinders and chapati makers.
Host of devotees also donate vegetables and other edibles to TTD which formed a Trust namely SV Nityannaprasadam Trust which received donations for daily anna prasadam operation. The expenses of Anna prasadam are met from the interest earned on the trust donations and the TTD contributed the matching grant for its maintenance and operation on a professional manner.
Smt Chechulakshmi, OSD in charge of TTD Anna Prasadam Trust, Catering officer Sr GNL Shastri meticulously supervised the preparation and distribution of anna prasadams at Krishna Pushkaram. They were ably aided by the District Administration, Srivari Sevaks and others in the entire operation which successfully ran for last 12 days.
