Stating that their government is working for the development of Brahmin community he reminded that they had allocated Rs 100 crore for the purpose. The amount was allocated to a Brahmin Trust to spend it for the development of Brahmin community. The CM had conducted a review meeting at the MCRHRD on Sunday to discuss the steps to be taken for the welfare of Brahmins. He revealed that his family had good attachment with Brahmins for the past several decades and showered several sops on Brahmins.
He reminded that he had constructed the first community hall exclusively for Brahmins in the country at Siddhipet, when he was the MLA in 1985. He said that he has personally seen the lifestyle of the Brahmins and he rose to this level with the blessings of Brahmins. He knew the financial situation of Brahmins when there are no auspicious muhurats. Like other welfare schemes for poor, their government would work for the uplift of poor Brahmins. This community should also be neglected and there is a need to uplift the poor even in this community, he told the officials.
Stating that anyone in this society would visit the temples for mental peace and we get solace with the blessings of priests/purohits/ Brahmins there. So, our government is wishing their uplift, he added.
"We will construct a Brahmana Sadanam in Hyderabad. Customs and traditions would be strictly followed there and if Brahmins from anywhere in India come to Hyderabad, we will provide accommodation there. We will create hostel facility for the Brahmin students. We will ensure scholarship for abroad education. We will take all steps for the welfare with the ‘Sadanam’ as the one stop place," KCR added. He ordered the ad hoc committee members to identify a suitable place for the construction of the ‘Sadanam’.
