Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex(MTVAC) in Tirumala has been receiving overwhelming response from the multitude of visiting pilgrims to Tirumala.

There are four huge halls that could accommodate nearly 4000 pilgrims in one sitting in the massive Annaprasadam complex of TTD in Tirumala. To enable speedy and more hygienic food serving without wastage of Annaprasadam delicacies, the temple management of TTD has converted the Hall No. 4 as buffet hall akin to star hotel services during May this year, which is giving fruitful results. Especially, the buffet service remained a huge hit among the pilgrims during the recently held annual Brahmotsavams.

TIMELY DELICACIES:

Every day in the morning between 9am and 11am, breakfast is being served to pilgrims, which includes mouth watering menus like upma, pongal, kicchiligadda, semiya upma with chutneys as side dishes. From 11am till 4pmrice items like Bisibelabath, Curd bath, Sweet Pongal, special chutney is being served in this hall. From 5pm till 11pm, apart from Annaprasadams chaps this with dal is also served to pilgrims. 

UP TO 15K PILGRIMS DURING PEAK DAYS:

On an average nearly 8000-10000 devotees are tasting the healthy and hygienic delicacies in buffet hall in MTVAC. While this figure doubles during festive and peak seasons.

STAR HOTEL STANDARD SERVICES:

Under the instructions of TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, the hall no. 4 in MTVAC is being maintained as a role model dining hall on par with star hotel standards. Apart from the regular employees, over 50-100 Srivari sevakulu have been rendering services in this buffet hall every day. The separate dress code including the aprons, head wear and gloves to hands clearly indicates the importance given to hygienic food serving mechanism. TTD has also set up an Reverse Osmosis plant to provide filtered water to the pilgrims.

BUFFET AS 'SWAYAM SEVA'

According to Annaprasadam wing special officer Smt Chenchulakshmi, the pilgrims are keen to take food in buffet hall, as it is not only hygienic but also saving their precious time. "To give it a traditional touch, we have named the buffet system as "Swayam Seva", she added.
