Tirumala, 19 November 2016 :The temple management of TTD is all set to observe Karthika Vanabhojana Mahotsavam on November 20 in Paruveta Mandapam.
TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas in connection with this special fete on Sunday.
On this auspicious occasion, TTD will organise mass community dining programme in the lush green forests covered with amla trees. Community dining under amla trees is considered to be auspicious during Karthika masam.
Before this mass dining programme, the special snapana tirumanjanam is performed to the processional deities of Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy and His two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.
According to available historical evidences, this festival was first introduced by Tallapaka Pedda Tirumalacharya in 16 century AD. Later it was revived by TTD in the year 2010.
