Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana
organized a Blood Donation Camp, which was attended by a large number of faculty,
staff, and trainees. About 40 Assistant Section Officers of Central Secretariat
Service, who are attending a nine-week Foundation Course at the Institute,
donated blood. Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, which was
represented at the Camp by medical and para medical staff, was the recipient
Institution.
Dr.
K. Tirupataiah, IFS, Additional Director General, Dr. MCR HRD Institute, who
inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp, said that blood remains the most precious
thing in the world and blood donation is a service to the mankind. He added that a number of patients,
especially those who undergo surgical procedures, need blood and the
availability of right type and quantity of blood will be greatly instrumental
in saving their precious lives. “Donation of even a unit of blood, though small,
is an important step in the direction of a noble cause”, he added.
Dr. Tirupataiah further stated that
a number of people are interested in donating blood and, therefore, called upon
the need for more and more blood donation camps. He stated that considering its
importance, first Wednesday of every month is a Blood Donation Day at Dr. MCR
HRD Institute.
“The Blood Donation Camp was an
occasion for us to realize the importance of community service. After donating
blood, we experienced a great sense of satisfaction. We will not only continue
to donate blood in future but will also motivate our friends and relatives to
do the same”, stated all the blood donors unanimously.
The next “Blood Donation Day” will
be held on January 4th, 2017 at Dr. MCR HRD Institute.
