GRAND PUSHPA YAGAM AT PAT
Tiruchanoor, 5 December 2016: Heavy downpour brought pleasant relief at the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple where after a nine day long Kartheeka Brahmotsavam the annual ritual of Pushpayagam was performed in the evening with variety of flowers and scented leaves.
For the festival conducted after the Brahmotsavam, five tones of flowers were contributed by the TTD Garden department which were carried in a procession from Asthana Mandapam to the PAT temple in the afternoon.
The Pushpa yagam was conducted in the evening at the Srikrishna Mukha mandapam amidst veda parayanam by vedic pundits with 12 varieties of flowers and six types of scented leaves. The grand pushpa yagam heightened the devotional fervor and enthralled the devotees. Legends say that Pushpa yagam was performed after the annual brahmotsavams to ward off ill impact of any lapses conducted during the nine day celestial event. All ill impacts would be washed off with the Pushpa yagam, say the agama pundits of PAT.
TTD Chairman Dr C Krishnamurti, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, JEOs Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Sri Pola Bhaskar, Spl Gr DyEO Sri Muniratnam Reddy, AEO Sri Radhakrishna other officials and and large number of devotees participated.
