Chief Minister Sri
K Chandrashekhar Rao said that the government is keen on developing Sheep
rearing as a big industry in the State. The Chief Minister on Sunday held a
review meeting on the Fisheries and Sheep Rearing wings of Animal Husbandry department.
He said both development of fisheries and sheep rearing will play a major role
in revamping the rural economy in the State. He wanted the Telangana State to
become one of the major exporters of the Sheep meat to other states and countries.
In this context, the Chief Minister announced that a Cabinet Sub Committee
under the Chairmanship of Minister Sri Talasani Srinivas Yadav is constituted
to prepare a comprehensive plan of action on the development of fisheries and
Sheep rearing. People are going to get a larger benefit thanks to the irrigation
porjects, schemes of the state government and hence now the focus should be on having
a detailed action plan to develop and help people who rely on their hereditary
trades.
“My government’s
aim is to make all sections of the people to be happy,” the CM said. He has instructed officials concerned to take
all possible measures through the department to help Sheep farming. Through the
Sheep farming all the Yadavs should become better financially and the
profession should be made profitable. “People who made fun of us and predicted
that Telangana people cannot govern are now astonished and dismayed at our
governance and the way we are getting an appreciation world-wide. The same
should be the outcome in Sheep rearing too.
Since, there will be some problems when the numbers of sheep increase
multifold, the officials concerned should find solutions to such issues, the CM
said.
The Chief Minister
also advised that the Sheep can be bought from the neighbouring Maharashtra, Karnataka
and AP States. In future, Telangana State should become the centre for Sheep
Farming and export and become a role model to other States. In this context,
the Chief Minister held a detailed discussion on the Sheep rearing and other
issues.
