Chief
Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday has reiterated that his government
is committed to the welfare of the retired Army personnel. The Telangana State
government is setting up a large fund for the Sainik welfare. Retired Army
personnel from the Telangana State met the Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude
and thanks for initiating many measures for the welfare of the Army personnel,
for the first time in the country, which no other State government ever thought
of doing. The retired army personnel under the leadership of MP Capt Laxmikanth
Rao have met the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan here.
Speaking
on the occasion, several retired Army personnel said that in the past no other
Chief Minister ever bothered even to give them appointment or listen to their
genuine problems. Sri Chandrashekhar Rao
is the only Chief Minister in the country who is thinking about the Sainik
Welfare, the Army personnel lauded the CM.
“Chief Minister Sir, We are treating you as one of our members of the
profession and we look towards you as a true Commander, “ the Army Personnel
said in an emotion-choked voice. They later raised slogans, “Jai Jawan! Jai
Kisan, Jai Telangana! Jai KCR!” Understanding their emotions, the Chief
Minister hugged each one of them and personally inquired about their
well-being. Retired Army Personnel Welfare Association leaders have presented
an Artillery Model Gun to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Along
with MP Capt Laxmikanth Rao, Telangana State Sainik Welfare Director, Col
(Retd) Ramesh Kumar, retired Army Personnel Sri Suresh Reddy, Sri Jagan Reddy,
Sri Pochaiah, Sri Francis, Sri Prabhakar Rao, Sri Manohar Reddy and others
participated.
