10th Annual Edison Awards held in Grandeur @Malaysia

The 10th Annual Edison Awards was held in a gala manner in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 11th Saturday. The event was held in The Palace of the Golden Horses hotel. Palace of the Golden Horses, tagged as "Asia's Most Extraordinary Hotel", is a world-class, award-winning, luxury hotel located within the iconic MINES Wellness City. 

Various dignitaries including Malaysia’s Top Govt officials, Diplomats, Law enforcement officials participated. Apart from Malaysia, Tamil Diaspora leaders from various countries such as Sri Lanka and others participated.
Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, Executive Chairman of Country Heights Group & YBhg Dato’ Seri Utama Dr. S. Samy Vellu, Special Envoy to India & South Asia on Infrastructure attended the event as Chief Guest.
The event showcased the rich Malaysian culture comprising Malay, Tamil and Chinese culture.

Top celebrities from Tamil movie industry attended the event. The event was held in a Gala dinner format. The only Indian Movie award that is held in this manner similar to Golden Globe awards in Hollywood.

The first award of the evening was Best Choreographer. It went to Dancer Satish for his fantastic choreography of Showkali song in Acham Yenbathu Madamaiyadaa.

Best Comedy Actor of the year award went to Actor Sathish for his comic performance in Remo.

Best Lyricist of the year award went to Arunraja Kamaraj for his powerful lyrics in Neruppuda song in Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali.

The appearance of the year award went to Actor Yogi Babu for his act in Remo. He received thunderous applause when he received the award.

Best Character role – Female went to Actress Pooja Devariya for her stunning performance in Iraivi.

Veteran Actor Radha Ravi who received Lifetime Achievement award last year continued to be a strong contender this year and won Best Character-role (Male) for his stupendous performance in Iraivi.

Best Supporting Actor (Male) award went to Actor John Vijay for his performance in Kabali.

Best Debut Director of the year award went to Dir Bakkiyaraj Kannan for 2016’s Blockbuster Remo.

Best Debut Actor (Male) award went to Actor Shirish Saravanan for his performance in Metro.

Fast rising star Manjima Mohan won Best Debut Actor (Female) for her performance in Acham Yenbathu Madamaiyadaa.

Best BGM Score of the year award went to Music Dir Santhosh Narayanan for his scintillating score in Kabali.

Best Music Dir award went to Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander for his brilliant score in Remo.

Best Entertainer of the Year award went to Actor Sivakarthikeyan for his performance as the Lady Nurse in Remo.

Best Director of the year award went to Dir Pa.Ranjith for Kabali.

Best Protagonist and Best Antagonist of the year award went to Suriya’s performance in 24.

Mass Hero of the Year award went to Ilayathalapathy Vijay for Theri.

Best Film of the Year award went to Superstar’s Kabali which was shot in Malaysia.

Charismatic Queen of the Year for Nayanthara.

Best Actress of the year award went to Actress Trisha for her performance in Kodi.

Best Actor of the year award went to Actor STR for his performance in Acham Yenbathu Madamaiyadaa.
