Tirumala, 24 March 2017: The divine bond between Ahobilam and Tirumala clearly depicted in the sankeertans of Tallapaka Annamacharya and the legacy should continue for generations", advocated HH Sriman Srivan Satagopan Yateendra Mahadesikan Swamy, the 46th Pontiff of Ahobila mutt.
In his anugraha BHASHANAM on the occasion of 514th Annamacharya Vardhanti which was observed at Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala on Friday, the pontiff said, the chief seer of Ahobila mutt has taught 32 Beejakshari Mantra to Tallapaka Annamacharya when the later visited Ahobilam. Following the mantra, Annamacharya has penned 32000 keertans with 1000 keertans for each Beejaksharam in the mantra. We are happy TTD has been sustaining this legacy on Dinamu Dwadasi day and we wish to see more and more artistes emerge to propagate Annamaiah Sankeertans", he added.
The AP and TS Governor Sri ESL Narasimhan said, the benign blessings of both Lord Venkateswara and Ahobila Narasimha Swamy are on us for our well being.
In his speech, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, the 514th Annamacharya Vardhanti is being observed in four places at Mahati and Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati, Tirumala and also in Tallapaka. "Out of 32thousand keertans, 14 thousands are available. So far we have recorded 2500 songs out of which over 1700 we did in past two years. Stalwarts like Sri Balakrishna Prasad, Sri Raghavendra Rao, Sri Keeravani have contributed a lot in bringing out these keertans. "Annamaiah Pataku Pattabhishekam is one such program aimed at propagating Annamaiah Sankeertans. Now we have kept all these songs available on our official website for the sake of global devotees", EO added.
Later he Honourable Governor felicitated the descendants of Annamaiah including Sri Vijayaraghavacharyulu, Sri Vengopalacharyulu, Sri Harinarayanacharylu, Sri Raghava Annamacharyulu on this occasion.
Earlier, the processional deities of Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy and Sridevi, Bhudevi were brought to Narayanagiri Gardens in a celestial procession and Unjal Seva performed. The renowned artistes of Annamacharya Project presented Sapthagiri Sankeertans in a melodious manner.
Chittoor District Collector Sri Siddharth Jain, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, All Projects Special Officer Sri N Muktheswara Rao and others were also present.
