RAJ BHAVAN QUARTERS INAUGURATED

Hon’ble Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan, inaugurated the newly constructed residential quarters for Officers and Staff Members of Raj Bhavan here today, in an auspicious muhurtham, amidst solemn ceremony conducted by Veda Pundits, in the presence of Telangana CM Sri K. Chandra Shekar Rao, Dy. CM Sri Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Sri Nayani Narsimha Reddy, R&B Minister Sri Thummala Nageswara Rao, Hyderabad Mayor, Sri Bonthu Ram Mohan and other dignitaries and senior officers of the Government.
The original Raj Bhavan quarters constructed in 1956 with load bearing structures and lime concrete became dilapidated and unusable and required construction of new quarters for the officers and staff members working in Raj Bhavan.
Total 152 flats have been constructed in an area of 2.70 acres for officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan with A-Type, B-Type and C-Type quarters. Apart from residential quarters, a School building, Community Hall and Barracks for security staff are also being constructed in the Raj Bhavan premises, which are expected to be completed in 2 months time.
The foundation for the construction of the residential quarters    was   laid on 17-02-2016 and the construction has been completed in a record time of 13 months.
The entire project was designed with Green building concept providing green cover in an area spread over 20 per cent of the total premises. Parking facility has been provided in stilt floor in all three types of quarters. Same quality of flooring, doors, windows, finishing etc. has been used in all types of quarters.
A unique feature of the buildings is that entire power supply is through roof-top solar system erected on each building, while water conservation has been taken care through provision of rain water harvesting pits and Bore recharging pits. Sufficient fire safety measures have been incorporated in the building construction.
Hyderabad Metro Water Supply Board has made provision for supply of treated water for gardening.
