Honourable
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday gave permission for the
appointment of record number of employees in the Electricity department, which
never witnessed such huge appointments in its history. Though Electricity
organisations and institutions have been asking for the filling up of posts
since 2012, no government ever bothered. The Chief Minister, now, has
instructed the officials concerned to fill up the posts since 2012 and also
recruit people for the future needs at one go. The CM ordered the appointment
of 13,357 posts under the Genco, Transco, Discoms’ jurisdiction from Junior
lineman to Executive Director. Of this, there are 1500 non-technical posts.
While this recruitment goes on, the CM ordered that promotions to about 10,000
persons should also be given forthwith.
The CM made this historic decision based
on a request made by s Srinivasa Rao, NPDCL CMD Gopal Rao, SPDCL CMD Raghuma Reddy and others. The CM said while filling up the vacancies, the
Telangana State is making rapid strides in the power sector. As on date, 24
hours power supply is given to the Industrial, Domestic and Commercial sectors
and efforts are on to give 24 hours power supply to the agriculture sector from
the next year. The CM said he h
as agreed for the large-scale appointments in the electricity department, since he wants to strengthen the State, which has changed from power crisis state to power surplus State.
The senior officials from the
electricity department have hailed the CM for taking a historic and bold
decision, which no other CM ever did, and they thanked the CM for that.
