Tirumala, 3 May 2017: The number of pilgrims who had Darshan, laddus, tonsurings, annaprasadams, reception etc. recorded a better figure this April than the previous year, said TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the EO stated that this April about 23.15 lakh devotees had dashan of Lord Venkateswara as against 20.49 during April last which is 2.67lakhs more, while this year 87.45 laddus were sold against 77.45 during last year.
In Annaprasadam also TTD made better figures as 22.22 lakh pilgrims were served food this April as against 20.36 lakhs during last which is 1.86lakhs more.
In Kalyanakatta 10.70lakh pilgrims offered hair as against 9.98 tonsures during last April.
Even in hundi collections also TTD made 1.35cr additional revenue than last April. In 2016 April the hundi collections recorded Rs.77.90cr while this April it was Rs.79.25cr.
The room occupancy by pilgrims in 2016 April recorded 104% while this year it recorded 109%.
