Tirupati, 8 June 2017: The annual Navahnika Brahmotsavams in Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple came to a grand end on Thursday with the holy event of Chakrasanam.

The Sudarshana Chakrattalwar-the holy discuss of Lord Maha Vishnu is considered to be the chief weapon of Lord and also considered as the "Ayudha Pursha" the anthropomorphic form. The Sudarshana Chakra has 108 serrated edges and with its fierce form it destroys the evil powers.

To appease the Lord, in all Sri Vaishnava temples, the annual fete will conclude with Chakra Snanam.

The temple priests carried Chakrattalwar amidst chanting of vedic hymns to Kapilateertham and performed Snapana Tirumanjanam in the holy temple tank waters. Later the priests immersed the Sudarshana Chakrattalwar in the auspicious muhurat marking the grand conclusion of the nine day event.
