Singh asked the officials to conduct joint inspections for the construction of
multi level parking facilities for better traffic management in the city. Addressing a meeting on the construction of
multi level parking complexes at the secretariat today, he said that multi
level parking complexes are being
constructed taking into consideration the requirements of the future. He reviewed the proposed location wise parking
complexes at Gaddiannaram, Saroornagar, NTR Nagar, Chaderghat and Old Gandhi
Mortuary with the concerned officials. He stressed the need for proper and effective
traffic management . The GHMC which is
taking up the construction of the parking complexes should protect the interests
of the respective departments on whose land the parking complexes are being
built, he added. Further, he suggested
that RTC should study the possibility of taking up construction of cellar
parkings in all its bus stations, terminals and bus depots and integrate metro,
MMTS and bus station parking as most of the traffic originates from the bus
stations. The GHMC is planning to construct
multi level parkings on 17 locations in the city. Later the Chief Secretary also reviewed the
status of relocation of polluting industries in Bholakpur. He asked the officials to furnish proposals
for allocation of land to relocate the existing leather industries and to built
a modern quality abattoir.
