Tirumala, 28 June, 17: Owing to heavy pilgrim rush which has been continuing even after completion of summer holidays in Tirumala, TTD has decided to dispense with divya darshanam tokens during week ends from July 7 on trial basis.
Speaking to media persons in Tirumala on Wednesday Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju said this summer vacation has seen unprecedented pilgrim rush in Hill town. "Especially the pilgrims trekking footpath routes have touched 50thousands during many week ends. Earlier this used to be only on GarudaSeva or Vaikuntha Ekadasi but now during normal days also the figure is touching 35 thousands in footpath routes. So to facilitate better darshan to pilgrims we have decided to dispense divya darshan tokens from July 7 on Fridays, Saturdays and sundays. No decision has been taken on the free laddu issued to them", he added.
Later he complimented all the departments for extending best services to pilgrims in their respective areas even during heavy rush.
