Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has congratulated Indian Women’s
Cricket Team captain Ms Mithali Raj for taking the team to the world cup finals
and registering the highest number of individual runs creating a record.
Ms Mithali Raj has met the CM in Pragati Bhavan on Friday evening. On
this occasion, the CM has presented a shawl and felicitated her. The CM also
presented and felicitated coach RSR Murthy with a shawl. He complimented the
coach for shaping up Ms Mithali Raj as a fine cricketer.
“You have played wonderfully at the
World Cup. We thought you would sure to win in the final too. Unfortunately, we
lost by a slender margin. But yet your team performed well and the whole nation
watched your performance. I have also watched the match. You have played very
well in this tournament. You have set a record by scoring the highest number of
runs. You have exhibited a wonderful talent. You are the pride of Telangana and
Hyderabad city. You should win several victories in future. On behalf of people
in Telangana state and my own behalf of I congratulate you. The government will
stand by you,” the CM told Ms Mithali Raj.
The CM has announced Rs one crore
cash prize for Ms Mithali Raj and said 600 sq yds. house plot will be given to
her in Banjara Hills. The CM also announced a cash prize of Rs 25 Lakh to Coach
Murthy.
