2017 can be definitely ranked as one of the  most important years in Tamil cinema industry. Amidst mixed fortunes, there were few films that marked their presence in the commercial sector like Dhuruvangal 16, Maanagaram, 8 thottakkal, Maragatha naanayam, Rangoon and Sangili bungili kadhava thora.

'KATTAM', directed by Rajan Madhav of 'Muran' fame is tipped to follow the above mentioned list as per the indications from the trade pundits of the film industry.  Starring new comers Nandan and Nivas in the principle lead roles with Shivadha Nair playing the female lead, this venture is produced by Sandhya Jana under the banner " icreatewonder films", the music is  composed by debutant music directors duo Naveen- J C Paul. 

Demel mantles the photography while Venkat Ramanan mantles the responsibility of editing. Prem is the art director. 

Director Rajan Madhav says, " KATTAM is not just another crime thriller. We have got certain ingredients that makes the film to be on par with international standards. We have travelled upon a new genre called "KARMIC thriller". Every citizen has to owe  responsibility for the mishappenings caused by them , that affects the society. The pain of the society is intense if the trouble is caused by people who are designed to save the society. Repaying or  repenting is the 'Karma' we have stressed upon and 'KATTAM' will be an absolutely new experience to the audience. We have completed the shooting schedules and the post production work is going on in full swing. We are looking out for an appropriate time for release " concluded Rajan Madhav with confidence that comes along when the product is good.
