Tirumala, 26 July 2017: Purusaitototsavam has been observed with religious fervour on Wednesday evening in Tirumala. This unique religious fete is associated to Sri Anantazhwan, an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara who ascended to Paramapadam.

ies of Sri Malayappa Swamy accompanied by his two Consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi were taken to Sri Purusaivari Tota. Astanam was performed to the processional deities. Later, the special garlands of Lord Malayappa were decorated to Pogada tree(Styphonolobium japanicum) which is believed to be representing Sri Anantazhwan.
Sri Anantazhwan (1053 AD) dedicated his 102 years in the service of Sri Venkateswara through Pushpa kainkaryam. To mark the contributions of this great Sri Vaishnava Saint, Purusaivari Tototsavam is performed TTD every year in Tirumala. TTD officers took part in this fete.
