CVSO DONATES BLOOD ON POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY







Tirumala, 21 October 2017: In connection with the Police Commemoration Day on October 21, TTD Chief Vigilance and Security Officer Sri Ake Ravikrishna donated blood in Aswini Hospital in Tirumala on Saturday.

Later addressing media persons, he said, he has been doing the blood donation from the past one decade. "Along with me, 20 TTD Vigilance and 20 SPF sleuths have also made blood donation commemorating the Martyr's Day.

He said, The Police Commemoration Day remembers the sacrifices of ten policemen who died in Chinese firing in 1959 on October 21. Chinese troops opened fire and threw grenades at a party of 20 police personnel. Ten were killed in the incident and their bodies were later cremated with full police honours at Hot Springs in North Eastern Ladakh. A Police memorial was erected at Hot Springs. As a salute to the sacrifices of these martyrs, Police Commemoration Day is observed", he added. 

Medical Superintendent Dr Kusuma, VGOs Sri Ravindra Reddy, Smt Sada Lakshmi and other Doctors, Vigilance Officers were also present.
