The Telangana State Police
has organised Commemoration Parade in observance of Police Commemoration Day
held at Police Martyrs Memorial, Goshamahal, Hyderabad.
The Parade presented arms
to Sri Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Home Minister, Telangana State. The Minister has
released Martyrs book and handed over to Sri Anurag Sharma, Director General of
Police Telangana State. The roll of honour was read out by Additional
Commissioner of Police, CAR Head quarters. Later the Minister has launched
special postal cover and Stamp.
The Home Minister
addressed the gathering and recalled the importance of day. He said that many
Policemen are sacrificing their life in protecting the country. This year 383
Police personnel have died in the line of duty. He also said the Police are
performing the duty of protecting the borders of the country and also internal
security. He said that the maintenance of law and order in the State leads to
its development. He said that the Telangana Police is solving cases in fast
pace with usage of technology. The installation of CCTV is helpful for the
Police and Public in tracing out the crime. The New York based Mercer’s survey
has stated that Hyderabad is the 2nd safest city. He said that the Chief Minister
has addressed the around 1600 Police personnel for the first time from DG to SI
rank Officers. The Prime Minister and Union Home Minister have appraised the
performance of Telangana Police at various instances. The schemes such as SHE
teams, Bharosa centers, CCTNS project, e-governance, Finger print
identification system has been widely accepted by the people. The Government has filled up nearly 10981
posts and additional 18290 posts are sanctioned to the department. Police has
excelled in the contribution of making the state green by planting more than
one crore saplings in 3rd phase Harithaharam programme. He said that the more
than 8000 citizens have participated in the 2nd Indian Police Martyrs Memorial
Run and Police Expo had good response from the schools, colleges and public. He
said that the Government is extending welfare hand to the Martyrs families.
The Telangana DGP said
that the supreme sacrifices of the Police heroes should be remembered. There
needs to be patience in dealing the internal security issues. The people should
be aware of the Police duties and also from time to time they need to be
informed the top circumstances in solving. He said that several programmes were
organised in observance of Police Commemoration Day. Police exhibition, Open
House, Blood donation camps, Essay writing, elocution competitions for the
school children these competitions will inculcate empathy towards the Police.
Telangana is the only State in the country which is implementing best welfare
measures for the Police men and Martyr families. The Hon’ble Chief Minister and
Home Minister are supportive in facilitating the Police infrastructure.

DGP, Home Department Principal Secretary Sri Rajiv Trivedi, Hyderabad City
Police Commissioner Sri M. Mahender Reddy, retired DG’s , Senior Police
Officials paid homage to the Martyrs Memorial. Brigader B. Chandra Shekar,
Chief Post Master General, Telangana Circle has also participated n the event.
