Seshachalapathy Takes Ride on Sesha Vahanam

Tirumala, 23 October 2017: The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy along with His two Consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi took celestial ride on Pedda Sesha Vahanam on Monday evening in connection with the auspicious Nagula Chaviti.

Usually after the Deepavali Amavasya, the Nagula Chaviti festival occurs on Chaviti in the month of Kartika. Some will also observe Nagula Chaviti in Sravana Masam. During these occasions, the Lord will take a pleasure ride on the seven hooded Pedda Sesha Vahanam, which is believed as the serpent king Adisesha.
