Hyderabad, 24 Nov: Newly constructed Police Barracks constructed
at a cost of Rs.3.42 cr. was inaugurated by Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan and
Lady Governor Smt. Vimala Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Friday. The construction
of the police barracks was necessitated with demolition of the old quarters
which were in dilapidated condition. Budget for the construction of the Police
Barracks at Raj Bhavan was provided by the Telangana State Government.
The 150-bedded police
barracks named 'Sunivas' was consists of
ground plus three floors with total plinth area of 15,823 sft. The
Police barracks also consists of a dining hall apart from volley ball court,
Yoga hall, Gym facility, Library and store room. The Police barracks building
is connected to the solar power system existing in the Raj Bhavan premises.
Speaking after
inauguration of the Police Barracks, the Governor said that the Barracks is
meant for the benefit of police personnel deployed on the security of the
Governor and told them to make better use of it. Governor also said that the
inmates of the Police Barracks should ensure that the barracks premises is kept
clean at all times.

to Governor, were also present on the occasion.
