Sea Of Humanity Turned Out For Panchami Theertham

Tiruchanur, 23 November 2017: All roads lead to pilgrim centre of Tiruchanoor on Thursday, to take part in the auspicious Panchami Theertham, with which the Navahnika Karthika Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi concluded on a grand religious note.

CHOORNABHISHEKAM

Earlier during the day, before the Goddess was rendered with the celestial head bath-Abhyangana Snanam, Choornabhishekam was performed. The processional deity was seated in the Dhwaja Mandapam in side the Tiruchanoor temple and the Archakas performed this ritual chanting Sri Mantram and Sri Suktam. Later the Goddess was taken to Padma Sarovaram and seated on the special platform in Panchami Theertha Mandapam.

IN PANCHAMI MANDAPAM

Along with the Goddess, Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar, the anthropomorphic form of Lord was also seated aside and Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed. Initially, the Kankanabhattar Sri Archakam Vakulabharanam Srinivasa Manikantha Bhattar commenced the fete by invoking all the deities in nine Kalasas. Later the celestial ceremony started with Viswaksena Aradhana, followed by Punyahavachanam and other rituals. 

PADI SARE FROM TIRUMALA

Meanwhile, the Srivari Padi Sare from Tirumala reached Panchamitheertha Mandapam on Thursday. The celestial gifts comprising Silk vatrams, vermilion, turmeric, sandal, garlands, jewels, laddu, vada, appam etc. were offered to Goddess Padmavathi Devi as a token of love from Lord Venkateswara on Her Birth Day. Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju handed over the sare to his Tirupati counterpart Sri P Bhaskar at pasupu Mandapam. From there he carried the sare to temple which was received by TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.

TULASI PATRA HARAM DECKED

During Sanapana Tirumanjanam the Goddess is bein decorated with the jewels that were brought from Tirumala consisting Tulasi Patra haram weighing about 2.178kilos andCoral Kasula mala weighing around 118 grams. Every year Lord present precious jewels as His lady love's  birth day gift.

CHAKRASNANAM IN MAKARA LAGNAM

Kankana Bhattar Sri Archakam Vakulabharanam Srinivasa Manikantha Bhattar performed the rituals as per the tenets of Pacharatra Agama. The chakrasnanam was performed to Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar in the prescribed Makaralagnam.

VISUAL TREAT

It was a cynosure to the eyes to witness tens of thousands of devotees taking holy dip as soon as the holy disc was given a sacred dip in Padma Pushkarini.

ELABORATE ARRANGEMENTS BY TTD

TTD has made elaborate security and annaprasadam arrangements for the celestial fete. 

Apart from TTD security, the police personnel deployed at different entry and exit points at pushkarini for devout management and see that no untowards incident takes place during Panchami Theertha Snanam.

On the other hand about 1.5lakh anna prasadam packets and 2 lakh water packets were distributed by Annaprasadam and health wings rwspectively.

Over 250 scouts and 250 srivari sevakulu also rendered impeccable services during the annual fete.
