Special Story on Mahalakshmi Daughter of Aanthalwar

Tirupati, 17 November 2017:Ananatalwar is the disciple of Sri Ramanuja and a fond devotee who undertook Pushpa kaikarya of Lord Venkateshwara for life.

Legend says that Lord appeared as a 12 year old boy to assist the Alwar couple who were digging a pond for growing flower garden but the Alwars did not like the helping hand and shooed him away.But the Lord came back again and assisted Alwars wife in carrying the soil which angered the Anant Alwar who hit him with a crow bar injuring the boy on his chin and chased him up  to the temple. Realization dawned him that the boy was none other Lord himself and later treated the injury with Paccha karpooram. The crow bar  presently hangs at the walls near the temple entrance.

Another legend depicts that Lord Venkateswara and Padmavati used the Ananta Alwar rose garden for their outings and the Alwar finally caught the lady but the Lord had vanished near the temple when chased.The devotee Alwar realized his folly when he could not trace Mahalakshi in the heart zone of Lord next morning and that the lady he caught last night and tied to a tree was the same. Anant Alwar apologies and releases the lady later who again camps in the heart zone of Lord and is regarded as Vyuha Lakshmi .

In tribute and memory of the mythological feats of Anant Alwar the Lord Venkateswra will go around anti-clock after Brahotsavam and Dwajavarohana every year.
