Tirupati, 6 January 2018: The 171st Aradhana Mahotsavams of Saint musician
Sri Tyagaraja was observed with religious fervour in the temple city of Tirupati and in his turf at Kakarla in Prakasam district on Saturday by TTD.
Usually, every year, on the auspicious Pushya Bahula Panchami day, the day when saint composer attained Samadhi, the carnatic musicians all over the world pay tribute by rendering Tyagaraja Pancharathna Kritis and scores of other sankeertans penned by the great musician, fondly called by all as "Carnataka Sangeetha Pithamaha".
Following the same trend, the SV College of Dance and Music run by TTD has also been observing the Tyagaraja Ardhana Mahotsavams from the past many years.
Earlier, during the day, special abhishekam was performed to the statue of saint poet in the college premises. Later the faculty and students lead a procession from the college to Mahati Auditorium. Rich tributes were paid to the great musician composer, by rendering his sankeertans in a befitting manner.
