Medaram,
Jan, 25: The tribal hotspot of Sammakka and Saralamma jathra is going to be
accessible for spiritual tourists and also students of research and
anthropology henceforth.
The
Telangana tourism department has made a beginning to set up accommodation in
the form of luxury tents with all modern amenities to attract the forest and
nature lovers. During the Medaram Jathra, 46 modern tent campsites will be
created on platforms. The luxury tents comprising of two beds, and a toilet on
a 16x16 size are got up on 46 platforms.
The
Tourism and ITDA official Chakradhar Rao said that the management of luxury
tents would be handed over to the private organization and manned by tribal
youth. The tents are available on an hourly and also day basis. The tents could
be booked online and the catering etc could be organized through the Harita
outlet got up at Medaram.
If
successful the tents could be continued in future by the Tourism department to
attract tribal lovers and adventure tourists to the jungles of Eturnagaram on a
regular scale.
Besides
there luxury tents, the district administration has encouraged private
enterprises put up barricaded tents, bag, and chappal stand, for common mans
use all around Medaram forest belt. The barricaded tents which appear like
refugee camps are all temporary sheds for tribals and also non-tribals.
