Telangana IT Minister KTR said
that the state's Digital push rests on five important pillars - Connectivity,
Digital Literacy, Skilling, Innovation and Intellectual Property. The Minister
was speaking at the Round Table "Rethinking Governance in a Digital
Economy" held on the sidelines of WCIT 2018 being held at Hyderabad.
Union Electronics and IT
Minister Ravishankar Prasad Chaired the session in which IT Ministers from
Armenia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and State Secretary from Sweden participated.
The session was moderated by BVR
Mohan Reddy, former Chairman of NASSCOM.
Minister KTR outlined the
various important IT initiatives that the state government has undertaken in
the last three and half years. He spoke about the startups working at T-Hub in
the fintech, cleantech and agritech sectors. Minister informed the participants
about TWorks - India's largest prototyping lab that is going to be set up in
Telangana soon.
Offering the closing remarks to
the session, Minister KTR proposed that the Union Government could set up a
Cooperative Digital Platform to bridge the gap between the Digital haves and havenots.
Minister also met the Canadian
Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Mr Navdeep Bains on
the sidelines of WCIT 2018.
Minister KTR met Mr Tony
Prophet, Chief Equality Officer of Salesforce at HICC today. Among the various
areas of collaboration was a partnership with WE-Hub, to be launched by
Telangana Government on March 8th 2018.
