Lord Somaskanda Murthy Rides Bhuta Vahanam

Tirupati, 8 February 2018: On Day 3 of Annual Brahmotsvams of Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, Lord took ride on Bhuta Vahanam in Somaskanda murthy avatar along with consort Sri Kamakshi and blessed devotees.

The Vahanam went around Kapilatheertha road, Anna Rao circle, Vinayaka Nagar L type quarters, Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple, NGO colony, Alipiri bypass blessing devotees who worshipped with camphor harati, chakka bhajans, and Kerala drums all along. 

Puranas say that Brahma had asked Prama Shiva to punish the Bhuthas which harassed common people who camped at Grave yards, the abode of Bhuthas to complete his mission. Hence his parade on Bhutha vahanam to showcase his victory of Bhuthas.

Later in the day the processional dieties- Somaskandamurthi and Sri Kamakshi Devi were given Snapana Thirumanjanam with milk, curd, honey, fruit juices and sandal paste.

SIMHA VAHANAM

Tonight Lord will ride Simha Vahanam in the avatar of Paramashiv and Mrugaraju.

Cultural programs: During the vahana sevas the Kolata, Venkanna godugu and chakka bhajan programs were rendered by teams led by Smt B Manimegala, Smt S Dhanalakshmi K Murali, K Pacchappa and Smt T Anasuyamma.
