Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad, popularly known as Lijjat, is an Indian women's
cooperative involved in manufacturing of various fast moving consumer goods.
The organization's main objective is empowerment of women by providing them
employment opportunities. Started in the year 1959 with a seed capital of Rs. 80.
Lijjat has an annual turnover of around Rs. 1600 Crores in the year 2017, with
Rs. 69 Crores in exports. There is heavy demand for Lijjat Papad and other
products in local market as well as abroad. It provides employment to around
43,000 (in 2017) people. Lijjat is headquartered at Mumbai and has 81 branches
and 27 divisions all over India. One of the said branches is located in
Malakpet, Hyderabad, Telangana state.
Smt. Swati Paradkar has been elected as President of Shri Mahila Griha Udyog
Lijjat Papad in the year 2012-13. She
had contributed her services to the enterprise with dedication. The institute
works for the upliftment of women from rural areas and provides them
self-employment opportunities. During the year 2016-17 the institution received
Three Prestigious Awards in recognition of the work carried on towards Welfare
of women.

K. Terrado, Hon'ble Minister of Trade and Industry, Philippines in presence
of more than 300 Distinguished Dignitaries and Delegates from 25n countries.
Smt. Swati R. Paradkar was presented the 'Livelihood Facilitator of the Year
Award' by Wockhardt Foundation on
20th February 2017 in recognition of contribution to Society in the field of
Social Development activities.

by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modiji on 08th March 2017, during the Swatch Shakhty 2017 National Convention
organised by the Government of India
to celebrate International Women's Day
2017. The Award was given by the Ministry
of Women & Child Development for
its work towards the Economic &
Social Development of Women in India.
