Tirumala, 26 April 2018: As TTD is all set to launch the Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) counters soon for the pilgrim public, in a trial-run, the staff members of both TTD and TCS have taken the tokens on Thursday in the SSD counters of RTC bus stand in Tirumala.
Speaking on this occasion, Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju said, with an aim to minimize the inconvenience of long waiting hours to the pilgrims in queue lines and compartments, TTD has contemplated for SSD counters. A week-long trial-run with Aadhaar as mandatory was made in December last which yielded successful results.
However, in the wake of the legal restrictions imposed on Aadhaar card by the Apex Court, TTD has now made SSD viable for both Aadhaar and Voter IDs. In the next few days we will allow limited number of pilgrims only in this RTC bus stand SSD counter to verify and assess working of the application.
To assess the same, an experiment with TTD and TCS employees will be done for next few days before being launched in the public in a full-fledged manner. As the TTD board will also sworn in next couple of days, we will launch SSD counters on an auspicious day", he added.
