International Yoga Day Celebrations held at NIRD&PR Campus, Rajendranagar


The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad, on June 21, 2018, marked the 4th International Yoga Day in a grand manner. As part of the Yoga Day celebrations, the NIRD&PR organised a one hour Yoga session programme on its campus at Rajendranagar, for the faculty and staff to raise awareness on Yoga and its benefits.

The programme was inaugurated by the Director General of the Institute, Dr. W R Reddy, IAS, at 8 am. Speaking at the event, the Director General highlighted the importance of healthy lifestyle and healthy body. He said, practising Yoga is the best way to keep the body and mind healthy. He also highlighted the critical contributions of Yoga to the human well-being. He encouraged the participants to practice Yoga in everyday life.   

Swami Pranatej Ji from Art of Living, Hyderabad facilitated the sessions on the importance of Yoga and practice. They demonstrated and facilitated the versatility of different Asanas under Upayoga to a large group of participants comprising faculty members, officer trainees, PGDRDM students and campus residents in practising a set of meditation and physical exercises at the NIRD&PR campus. Smt. Radhika Rastogi, Deputy Director General of the Institute read the Sankalpa for the adopting of the Yoga in the everyday life for betterment.

The programme team comprised Shri Vineet Ku. Tandon, Assistant Registrar (T), Murli Krishna, Manager Audio Visual,   K.C. Behera, PRO, and Sri Rakesh, Caretaker organised the same.
