The Chief
Election Commissioner, Mr O. P. Rawat and his team of 10 Commission officials, interacted with representatives of the
Congress, CPI, BJP, BSP, YSR CP, TRS, AIMIM and an ex-MLA of the CPM, N.
Narasimha Reddy.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Mr Rajat Kumar, received
Mr Rawat and the others on their arrival at Hotel Taj Krishna at different
points of time during the day, while the GHMC commissioner, Mr M. Dana Kishore, oversaw arrangements at Hotel
Taj Krishna.
Two
representatives turned up from each party as directed by the commission, and
spent 10 to 30 minutes each. The GHMC officials headed by its additional
commissioner, Mr N. Ravi Kiran, escorted them to the commission from a waiting
hall . Ms Amrapali, joint CEO, Mr Buddha
Prakash Jyothi and S Saida, both additional
CEOs, were present.
Leaders of
each party except the TRS, complained against fake voters that they alleged are present in the
electoral rolls and sought their immediate removal to make the elections free
and fair. One party wanted stoppage of liquor sales in the State till the
completion of the elections and another sought a continuous vigil against
distribution of cash by ruling party as an inducement to the voters.
According to the
official schedule, the commission will have a meeting with CEO and DGP and
other top police officials on the second day on Tuesday. It will be followed by
another meeting with DEOs and SPs later.
