Christmas celebrations were ushered in at Raj Bhavan on Thursday with the singing of carols in praise of Jesus Christ by a team of choristers led by retired IAS officer Smt. Rachel Chatterjee and retired IPS Officer Smt. Aruna Bahuguna, in an event held at Raj Bhavan on the eve of Christmas.
Speaking on the
occasion, Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan said he always believes that the choristers bring good
luck to Raj Bhavan and with their graceful singing joy has descended on Raj Bhavan. He said that the carol
singing at Raj Bhavan has now become a customary practice every year. The
Governor congratulated the team of choristers and thanked them for their
gracious presence and melodious rendering of carol songs that marked the
beginning of Christmas and New Year celebrations at Raj Bhavan and ushering in
the festivities with lot of joy and cheer. Officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan
participated in the event along with their family members. On this occasion, the Governor said that
Jesus Christ taught the world peace, harmony and universal brotherhood to be
followed by all.
