Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad aka DSP has created a fusion of Hanuman Chalisa in fond remembrance of his Guru Mandolin U Shrinivas to commemorate the legendary Mandolin exponent’s Fiftieth Birth Anniversary ( 28th February 2019 ). This fusion interpretation of the popular bhajan has been named JAI BAJRANGA BHALI. Incidentally Mandolin U Shrinivas has always been an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman and had named his residence as MARUTHI NILAYAM.
Renowned Playback Singer Shankar Mahadevan has crooned this energetic track along with DSP. Adding glory to this fusion is stalwart Ghatam Maestro Grammy Award winner Padma Bhushan Shri. Vikku Vinayakram. The bar rises higher as world renowned Percussionist Shri. Sivamani contributes to the groove in his inimitable style. Popular Kanjira player , Sri Selvaganesh pitches in with his instrument and jathis followed by Maestro Shrinivas’ younger brother and world renowned Mandolin artist U Rajesh.
This single will be exclusively performed this evening ( February 28th 2019 ) at the THE GREAT MANDOLIN Show to be held at The Music Academy, Chennai and at Singapore at THE MANDOLIN & BEYOND Event to be held on 2nd March 2019 at The Esplanade Auditorium . The single JAI BAJRANGABALI will also be released shortly on the Internet.
It’s worth mentioning that the sound track GURAVE NAMAHA which was composed and performed by Devi Sri Prasad as a tribute of his Guru was well received by music lovers continues to be hugely popular even today.
