Tirumala, 2 February 2019: The Lord of Seven Hills, Sri Venkateswara Swamy is gearing up to take a pleasure ride on Seven Vehicles on the auspicious day of Radha Sapthami on February 12.
Sri Malayappa Swamy, the Utsava deity of Lord Venkateswara is mounted on seven different vahanams on this festival day and glides along the mada streets from morning to evening and hence this fete 0is also considered as Upa Brahmotsavams. Sri Malayappa Swamy as Surya Narayana Murthy takes the first ride on Suryaprabha Vahanam and this vahanam is considered to be the most important one of all the seven vahana sevas of the day as the festival is specially observed as "Surya Jayanthi".
Following this festival, TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas for the day including Asta Dala Pada Padmaradhana, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara sevas while suprabhatam, thomala and archana will be observed in Ekantam.
The privilege darshans like Senior Citizens, Physically Challenged, NRIs, Donors through Supatham entry were also cancelled on this day keeping in view the huge influx of pilgrims for the occasion.
