Srinivasa Mangapuram, 26 Feb. 19: it is always a wedding bell in this temple - Sri Kalyana Venkateswara temple in this town.
The mythological location on the outskirts of Tirupati known as honeymoon spot of Lord Venkateswara and his consort Goddess Padmavati is also known for promoting marriages in a big way. Legend says the Lord Venkateswara and Padmavati spent six months in the Ashram of Agasthyeswara after their wedding at Tiruchanoor. They spent six months in the forest abutting the swarnamukhi- Kalyanai-Bhima sangamam before leaving for Tirumala.
The Kalyana Kankanam offered to devotees after the daily Kalyanotsavam in the temple is said to not only ensure early marriages among the unwed and but also bring happiness among the newly wedded.
Sri Balaji Rangacharyulu, chief priest of - Sri Kalyana Venkateswara temple says that the holy Kalyana Kankanam that is tied during the daily Kalanotsavam is, offered to the devotees.
