While ‘Horror’ genre wasn’t a cherry-pick of family audiences, who usually want to amuse themselves in leisure times, director Vijay offered a smart loveable transformation by giving a ‘Ghostly’ touch. To be precise, ‘DEVI’ had garnered such acclaims from family audiences, where it became first of its kind ‘Ghost’ movie, where chilling spines weren’t the major aspect, but tickling our funny bones. Even now, the film remains to be a favourite choice of film buffs, who view it on digital platforms and satellite channels. While the craze for this film is still maintaining a strong domain, the team is ready to enthrall us all with Devi 2 that has officially confirmed its worldwide release on April 12.
Director Vijay says, "There is always a saying that right thing at the right time and right place. I am happy that it is happening now with Devi 2. Summers are always a season that is meant for family audiences, where they come to theatres and enjoy the entertainers. Precisely, Devi 2 is a film that is made with such a complete motive of catering the taste of family audiences. There are lots of funs, emotions, love, music and entertainment, which I believe are the ingredients that everyone in theatres love to get relished with. I am thankful to Prabhu Deva sir for giving me an opportunity to work with him again. His energy is irresistible and I am sure he is sure to enchant us all as in first part. Tamannaah has done a fabulous job in this film. She was so conscious about the way audience loved her performance in the first part and she wanted to give a best show than the first one. Everyone in the team has given the best contribution and support that made Devi 2 wrap up on time. I am sure this will be a treat to Universal audiences for the summer season.”
Bankrolled by Dr. Ishari K Ganesh of GV Films Ltd and Trident Arts R. Ravindran , the film has an ensemble star-cast involving Nandita Swetha who will be seen in a pivotal role. Sam CS is composing music for this film, which has cinematography handled by Ayananka Bose.
