Tirupati, 3 Apr. 19: The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodanda Ramaswami Temple began with the Dwajarohanam in the auspicious Mithuna lagnam between 10.30am to 12noon amidst special rituals on Wednesday.
Later in the afternoon Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to utsava idols of Sri Kodandaramaswami, Sita Devi and Lakshmana Swamy.
Speaking on the occasion TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said all arrangements were made for the sacred Brahmotsavams and Vahana sevas would be observed twice a day in the morning and in the evening.
He said Garuda Vahanam is on April 7, Rathotsavam on April 9, Chakrasnanam on April 11, Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 15 will be organised in a grand manner.
The EO said TTD has put up bright flower and electrical decorations and provided drinking water, buttermilk, milk and Anna Prasadam besides tight security arrangements.
He said artists of HDPP, Annamacharya project, Dasa sahitya Project would present cultural and Bhakti programs throughout the event and appealed to devotees from city and neighbourhood places to participate in the nine day mega religious event.
Meanwhile the temple DyEO Sri Sridhar presented dhoti and shirt bits to all the 40 vahanam bearers at a cost of Rs.15000.
Sri Pedda Jiyangar, Sri Chinna Jiyangar, AEO Sri Thirumalaiah, EE Nageswara Rao were also present.
